Good Goddesx - Divine Art Print

It is my immense pleasure to introduce you to my good goddesx,

Maia Lilith.

I was painting Maia while waiting for my appointment with an endocrynologist to hopefully start testosterone. [I did!] But while painting, I was still waiting to find out whether or not some stranger would enable me to embody my dreams.

I spent three beauterriful mooncycles painting Maia, reveling in her defiant confidence. Soothing myself stroking her contours with my brush, delving into the detail I love to let emerge over layers of time. Tracing her light, as it intermingled with mine.

Maia Lilith was a trans-woman before the term existed, trans people have always lived.

Before the internet connected us and broadcast possibilities into our hearts and bodies, she lived alone.

Maia was fieresomely brave, unyieldingly loving and yet, excruciatingly lonely.

She was feared, hated, berated and beaten, and yet...

Maia could see what her community could not, that their fear and hatred had nothing to do with her, and everything to do with what they feared and hated in themselves and the predetermined, binary roles that ruled their lives.   

Maia Lilith let refused to follow the role laid out before her as a him.

She refused to live or die in a lie.

She dreamed herself into being, with a passion so powerful it enabled her to be in the face of every fearful and judgmental glance projected back at her. 

She stood alone; her luminosity unseen until now. 

I am honored so honored she chose to reveal herself through my artists loving hands. 

My hope is that she will be thoroughly, lovingly seen through your eyes.

May your love and compassion at long last, balance all of the hate that she faced.

May she be free.
